Christell Lara, M.D.

Dr. Christell Lara grew up in El Paso, TX, where she attended the University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in Microbiology. Thereafter, she began teaching Biology to high school students when her interest in working with adolescents emerged. After several years of teaching, Dr. Lara's passion for medicine led her to attend the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where she graduated with her medical doctorate and completed her residency training in psychiatry.

As a previous educator, Dr. Lara understands the importance of teaching and discussing clinical issues and medications with her patients. She also incorporates various modalities of therapy into each of her sessions, providing her patients with the tools and knowledge to aid in overcoming any obstacles they may face. Whether dealing with marital, educational, familial, or occupational strife, Dr. Lara is sensitive to the roles such can play in one's emotional well-being.

She is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish to better understand and serve her patients' needs.
